Will Lowry

Will Lowry is a multidisciplinary designer with an MFA in Design from UNC Greensboro and a BA in both Theatre Arts and Computer Science at Furman University, Phi Beta Kappa. He previously collaborated with Flux Theatre Ensemble as the scene designer for Jane the PlainHearts Like FistsDEINDE, Ajax in Iraq, Lesser Seductions of History; costume designer for Sans Merci, Honey Fist, and Menders; both scene and costume designer for A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and the charge artist for Dog Act.

Will has completed over eighty produced designs, with select work including scenery for Noises Off (Lafayette College), Wedding Singer (Red Mountain Theatre Co), Opus (Curtain Call Theatre), A Christmas Carol (Palace Theatre), and Sleepy Hollow (Birmingham Children’s Theatre); costumes for Peter Pan (Southeast Missouri State University), Secret Garden (Birmingham Children’s Theatre), Le Grand Cirque: Adrenaline (Sydney Opera House), Trapezium (Playhouse on Park), and Spitfire Grill (Mill Mountain); and lighting for The Pillowman (Lehigh University), Arabian Nights (Lafayette College), Around the World in Eighty Days (Playhouse on Park), The Foreigner (Mill Mountain), South Pacific (Waterside Theatre), and The Woman in Black (California Theatre Center).

Will provided digital graphic work for the costumes in the Broadway productions of Motown: the Musical, Addams Family, Baby It’s You, Big Fish, Catch Me If You CanLeap of FaithAfter Midnight, as well as the off-Broadway productions of Lucky Guy and Silence! the Musical. He was the assistant to the costume designer for Motown: the Musical and After Midnight, and he contributed to multiple Broadway and off-Broadway shows over a five-year period as a studio assistant for five-time Tony-award winning Broadway costume designer William Ivey Long. He also worked with Mr. Long as the assistant designer for Shoolbred’s and Ninth Ward, two NYC bars in the East Village. He currently serves as a theatre arts post-doctoral fellow at Furman University, and his website can be found at will-lowry.com.
