August Schulenburg (Playwright) August’s plays include Carrin Beginning, Kidding Jane, Rue, Riding the Bull, Good Hope, Other Bodies, 19 Words, Dark Matter, Honey Fist, and The Lesser Seductions of History. His plays have been produced and developed at The Lark, Bay Area Playwrights Festival, Chelsea Playhouse, Theater for the New City, Portland Stage Company, Dayton Playhouse, Colonial Players, Contemporary Stage Company, Abingdon Theater Company, Gideon Productions, Impetuous Theater Group, Blue Box Productions, Center Stage, Decades Out, Riot Actors of Washington, and of course, Flux Theatre Ensemble. His work has been published twice in the New York Theater Review, and also Stage and Screen.


Kelly O’Donnell (Director) Kelly is a co-founder, core member and Marketing Director of Flux.  She directed Flux’s productions of Riding the Bull, Life is a Dream, 8 Little Antichrists and Rue. She recently played the journalist, Tegan, in The Lesser Seductions of History. She has worked at The Pennsylvania, Orlando and Utah Shakespeare Festivals, The Walnut Street Theatre, Alchemy Theatre, West End Shakespeare, the Cape Playhouse, Orlando Fringe Festival and the Arden Theatre.  Kelly is a native of Philadelphia, PA.


CAST

Johnna Adams (Isaac, Young Tamar) Johnna is delighted be in Flux’s Jacob’s House, making her New York stage debut. Favorite roles include Pam in Ken Urban’s New Jersey Trilogy, Maurette in Mark Ravenhill’s Handbag and Girl in Hot L Baltimore. Johnna has been nominated for a B. Iden Payne Award for Best Actress for Mrs. Shrub in Cinderella Meets the Wolfman (Texas Real Children’s Theater, Austin, TX) and for an OC Weekly Award for Best Supporting Actress for Gertie in Fuddy Meers (STAGEStheatre, Fullerton, CA). She is the author of The Angel Eaters Trilogy, produced by Flux in 2008.

Jessica Angleskhan (Tamar) Jessica is psyched to join the cast in her first full production with Flux.  Past NYC credits include As You Like It, Summer and Smoke, Native Speech, and Hamlet among others.  She has also performed at various venues in Dallas and LA including Dallas Children’s Theater, Dallas Theatre Center, Dallas Shakespeare Festival, Festival of Independent Theaters, Hy’Tara Entertainment, and HIT Entertainment.  Look for Jessica this June at Theater Row in Oberon Theatre Ensemble’s production of Othello.  NYU, Stella Adler Studio, proud member of Equity.  This one’s for you, babe, thanks for your support!

Matthew Archambault (Jacob) This is Matt’s second production with Flux, previously appearing as Barry in The Lesser Seductions of History.  He has also worked with The Mortals (Hamlet), Columbia Rep (Three Sisters), Wayside Theatre (Tuesdays With Morrie), Virginia Shakespeare Festival (Love’s Labour’s Lost), Roxy Regional Theatre (Doll’s House), Theatre at Monmouth (Arsenic and Old Lace), Fallingwater (Three Days of Rain), and Monomoy Theatre (Noises Off).  Professional directing credits include Closer and Sex aka Wieners and Boobs.  Matt would like to extend his gratitude to Flux Theatre Ensemble for creating an artistic community full of love and energy.


Zack Calhoon (Joe) NY credits:  Sgt. Woodward in In Fields Where They Lay, Hamlet in Hamlet, Ivan in The Commission, Lee in True West, Jamie in The Credeaux Canvas (Dreamscape Theatre); Edmund in King Lear, Hal in Henry IV Part 1 (Boomerang Theatre); Lady Anne in Richard III (Judith Shakespeare Co.); Bill in Suburban Peepshow, Beelzebear in Colorful World (Nosedive Productions); Edgar in King Lear (ShakespeareNYC). Regional credits: Romeo in Romeo & Juliet, Proteus in Two Gentlemen of Verona, Demetrius in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Actors Shakespeare Co). Training: BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. He wants to thank his wife, Susan.

Tiffany Clementi (Leah) Tiffany is thrilled to be a core member of Flux Theatre Ensemble. Favorite roles include Marie in The Lesser Seductions of History (Flux) Nola in Angel Eaters (Flux), Laura in Knave of Hearts (Strawberry One Act Festival), Goldie Lox in The Three Bears Hanukkah (Grove Street Playhouse), and Sylvia in Sylvia (The Little Theatre).  TV credits include All My Children, As the World Turns, and One Life to Live. Tiffany graduated with a B.F.A from the University of Central Florida. She wishes to thank her family, friends and Paul for their love and support. Mom, H to ♥.

Bianca LaVerne Jones (Rebecca, Laban, Young Dinah) Bianca is a native of Raleigh, North Carolina.  She has worked with Ambush Films, Lumina Films, Warner Brothers, Redline Cinemas and ABC.  OFF BROADWAY: McReele (Roundabout), MacBeth (Classical Theatre of Harlem/Germany), Trojan Women (Classical Theatre of Harlem, AUDELCO nomination), Virgin of the Vieux Carre (Primary Stages) REGIONAL: Iken’s Perversion (two character play with F. Murray Abraham), A Civil War Christmas (Long Wharf, original cast), Macbeth (with Harry Lennix), Three Penny Opera (Williamstown Theatre Festival, with Jesse L. Martin), Medea/MacBeth/Cindarella (Yale Rep, u/s Alaina Reed Hall) and many more productions.  Bianca attended NC School of the Arts, SUNY Purchase and Yale School of Drama.  Bianca feels blessed to have yet another opportunity to work her craft.  Thank you God, keep it coming.

Isaiah Tanenbaum (The Messenger / Lawyer) – saiah Tanenbaum (Lawyer / Messenger / Postcard Design) is a Flux member. With Flux: Lee (Lesser Seductions), Clarin (Life is a Dream), Enoch (Angel Eaters), Flute (Midsummer), and Gutty (Rue). Jane Lincoln Taylor (Dinah) Jane studied acting with the late, great Edward Moor and at Yale University and the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre. She has acted extensively off- and off-off-Broadway and in theaters throughout New England and the Midwest, and has been featured in a number of independent films. With Flux, Jane has appeared in Johnna Adams’ Rattlers and several Food:Soul and Have Another projects, and is a regular participant in Flux Sundays.

Anthony Wills Jr (Essau, Scheck, Young Joe, Young Benjamin) Anthony is an actor, singer, writer, director, choreographer and artist guy. Some New York Theater credits include This is the Peaceable Kingdom (Target Margin), In Circles (Kaliyuga Arts), Talking to Terrorists (Culture Project), Avenue X (Dreamlight), The Odyssey (Looking Glass) and his one-man show, The Happiness of Schizophrenia (New York Fringe) Other companies he’s enjoyed working with include American Theater Co. (now American Blues), Looking Glass, Milwaukee Rep, Steppenwolf, Utah Shakes, and several others. Upcoming projects include Finian’s Rainbow (New Harmony) and David London’s Sunday Circus. CREATIVE TEAM

Michael Eisenstein (Fight Choreographer) Michael would like to thank Flux for including him in their production of Jacob’s House. He has been studying stage violence under the guidance of J. David Brimmer for six years and has assisted Mr. Brimmer on three shows: Crazy for You, The Cripple of Inishmaan and Made in Poland. He has choreographed three shows on his own for the Secret Theatre and remembers fondly the blood and “found weapons” of MacB, the quick swordplay of Cyrano and the strangulation in Othello. Thanks to his manager Dave Brenner of Creative Talent, and Mom.

Hannah Rose Peck (Costume Designer) Hannah graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Theater and Dance in 2005. Since then she has mixed design with outreach working in theater and the non-profit world. She is currently a student with The Institute of Sacred Music in Connecticut. This is Hannah’s second show with Flux Theatre Ensemble. Her recent credits include Oedipus For Kids for the NY Musical Theater Festival, Mothergun for the Emergency Theater Company, Life is a Dream for Flux, Lilith for CORE Theater Company, and For Risk of Safety with Ain’t No Sweat Theater Company.

Elizabeth Rhodes (Sound Designer) New York credits include the world premiere of Steve Martin’s adaptation of THE UNDERPANTS, the premieres of John Patrick Shanley’s DIRTY STORY and SAILOR SONG. LAByrinth credits include Stephen Belber’s A SMALL MELODRAMATIC STORY and Robert Glaudini’s DUTCH HEART OF MAN. Other New York credits include Chuck Mee’s PARIDISE PARK with dir. Kia Rogers (Lighting Designer) Kia lives and works in New York City, most recently she collaborated with international artist Yeondoo Jung on his new theatre piece, Cinemagician, at The Asia Society. Her designs have been seen at The SoHo Playhouse, Manhattan Theatre Source, The Studio at Cherry Lane Theatre, The Bleecker Street Theatre, Dixon Place and The Brick Theatre. Regionally Kia has been a returning guest artist at The University of North Carolina at Wilmington and with The Barnstormers in New Hampshire. Jodi M. Witherell (Production Stage Manager) Jodi is pleased to be returning for her fourth show with Flux! Most recently, she was seen as PSM for The Lesser Seductions of History (Flux) and The House of Blue Leaves (Gallery Players).
