God Splat spotlight: Matthew Trumbull

We’re thrilled to continue spotlighting the creative team for God Splat (or Love and Death in Nine Parts) by Adam Szymkowicz with longtime Flux collaborator, Matthew Trumbull! Matthew has performed in Flux productions like DEINDE and Marian, or The True Tale of Robin Hood, and helped developed many new works. The questions are inspired by Adam’s beautiful play—make sure to RSVP for the 6/3 reading in NYC!

Have you ever been a deity of the dance floor? Where were you and what song was playing when it happened?
I was a very nervous deity when I did a tango (“Adios Nonino”) with my wife at our wedding–but I made it through and did a joyful fist pump at the end, which felt god-like. Ninety percent of being a god is fist pumps.
What’s inflating your balloon these days? (Giving you purpose, joy, fuel to keep going)
i have been drawn lately to little flash memoir pieces, they’re usually 500-1000 words long, of really well-written truth about some ordinary person’s life and it just hangs like an ornament on your mind all day.
If love is a borrowed car, what’s your love’s make and model?
A Winnebago RV.
