God Splat spotlight: Silvia Dionicio

We’re thrilled to launch the first spotlight of the creative team for God Splat (or Love and Death in Nine Parts) by Adam Szymkowicz with Flux first-timer Silvia Dionicio! The questions are inspired by Adam’s beautiful play—make sure to RSVP here for the 6/3 reading in NYC.
Have you ever been a deity of the dance floor? Where were you and what song was playing when it happened?
I was in Amsterdam, experiencing heartbreak and freedom all at the same time. The song I don’t remember but I remember I was in this club were no cellphones were allowed and they had these red mirrors all around that made everything look like a dream.
What’s inflating your balloon these days? (Giving you purpose, joy, fuel to keep going)
I have really exciting things coming at the end of the summer!! And I got my Greencard!!!
How do you keep going when the art you make goes splat?
I guess remembering that sometimes things have to “fail” to rebuild stronger. When our art experiences a “set back” the steps we take forward are usually stronger and further.
Anything coming up you want to tell us about?
My series regular on HBO “TASK” I guess? Where I get the pleasure of playing Mark Ruffalo’s daughter.
